Randall Melvin earned his MSW degree at Smith College School for Social Work. He also received further training in 1990 at Washington School of Psychiatry in Object Relations Therapy. He is board certified in Clinical Social Work, and he primarily utilizes a psychodynamic approach. He has had extensive inpatient psychiatric experience, which includes working at Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. This experience, as well as teaching and consulting, has lead to developing expertise in working with personality disorders, depression, trauma, grief and relationship conflicts. Working primarily with adults, he works with individuals and couples, with couple’s therapy being a specialty. He has maintained a private practice since 1985.
